The biggest challenge leading the creative strategy of this series was creating buzz around a brand new show with a no previously existing IP, no known auspices, and starring two new leads. This forced us to approach the series through the lenses of other previously well known and successfully genre shows.

This series was also one of the first of it’s kind to feature two plus-size women as the heroes. The importance of this representation was also a driving feature of the campaign and important to highlight beyond just for promotion of the show.

Working with a series with limited awareness, we had to find the selling points of the series that would appeal to a larger audience. A huge selling part of the show were the women who played Astrid & Lilly. We knew if we could get audiences hooked on them and their charming personalities, that would help bring in viewers. Additionally, we tapped into the nostalgia component of the show to connect with audiences through things we know they already loved.

Another strategy we used was pairing the show with an already known SYFY hit, Resident Alien. We found opportunities to cross promote one being celebrating the awesome female friendships of both shows during Women’s History
